Problem Statement

In Pune city, there are over 500 vastis (slum areas), each facing its own set of challenges and conflicts. These communities struggle with multiple issues, such as limited access to education, poor healthcare, and exposure to negative influences. Growing up in such environments without proper guidance and support often makes it difficult for children to differentiate between right and wrong. This has a significant impact on their emotional, social, and physical development, hindering their ability to reach their full potential.

Our Approach to the Problem

To address these challenges, Swanand started work in 2016 through a structured Vasti Vikas Prakalp, to provide value-based education and holistic development for children aged 4–18, fostering leadership, self-realization, and overall health & wellbeing. All these project are alignment with NEP 2020's NIPUN Bharat Mission.

Our vision at Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan is to put all our efforts into bridging the gap among various sections of society and bringing equality in the communities through various upliftment programs for underprivileged communities by providing structured development programs and platforms. We aim to create social harmony through a unique development model.

Our Mission

Focus on the social and cultural development of children the age of 4 to 12 years through well-organized and well-structured ‘Samruddhi Varg', as we believe this is the right age to inculcate values like changing attitudes, habits, behavioral aspects, and learning skills through persistent and consistent efforts.

Create a mentoring and counseling structure for working with children and adolescents, providing hand holding through experts and professionals via our Kishor Darpan Project.

Organize social events, functions, gatherings, and camps to provide handshake opportunities and cultural exchanges for all sections of society to bridge the gap aligned with our vision.

Board of Trustees

Mr. Sudhir Kalkar, an Electronics Engineer from Mumbai University and MBA graduate from Symbiosis, brings over 35 years of industrial expertise, including 22 years at ACG Worldwide, Currently, he is Director of Business Development at Afy Technologies LLP, a global pharmaceutical engineering firm.
Mr. Kalkar is deeply committed to social causes. As Chairman of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, He also serves on the council of Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali (SPM), overseeing 40+ institutions, and is Chairman of SPM’s English Medium School. Additionally, he is Vice Chairman of Maitra Pariwar and Trustee at Asmita Mumbai. A lifelong RSS member, Mr. Kalkar exemplifies leadership in both industry and community service.

Dr. Sunil Bhandge, Vice Chairman, of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, is a renowned academic and social leader affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. Founder of the Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe and Matoshree Ramabai Ambedkar Awards, he champions social and cultural contributions. As General Secretary of the All India Holar Samaj Sanghatana, he advocates for marginalized communities through initiatives promoting empowerment, entrepreneurship, and memorials for icons like Savitribai Phule. A prolific author, Dr. Bhandge has penned works on social justice and serves on key committees, including the Anna Bhau Sathe Adhyasan Center at Mumbai University.

Dr. Shyamatai Ghonse Vice Chairman, of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, served as a Marathi professor at Abasaheb Garware College for an illustrious 34 years. She is currently the Head Professor at the Sant Namdev Adhyasan Kendra under Savitribai Phule Pune University. Her notable contributions to literature include the widely recognized books "Indian Saints and Social Harmony" and "Visionary Mahatma Basaveshwar." For the past 35 years, she has been actively associated with Samrasata Sahitya Parishad and Samajik Samrasata Manch, working passionately towards fostering social harmony.

Mr. Shinganapurkar, Secretary of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, is a seasoned professional with 32 years at Bajaj Auto Limited, excelling in production, HR, and R&D. A Mechanical Engineer with a Master's in Management Science, he now consults in product design and special-purpose machine manufacturing.
A lifelong advocate for social causes, he has led initiatives like DIPEX, a state-level exhibition, since 1987. He also serves as Director of Seva Arogya Foundation and a Chancellor nominee on the Management Council of Savitribai Phule Pune University. Combining technical expertise with social leadership, Mr. Shinganapurkar drives Swanand’s mission for social harmony and equality.

Mr. Makarand Bhaskarrao Patil, BE in Instrumentation from Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, is the Managing Director of Softview Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune. He is a Trustee and Treasurer of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, Director (Industrial Sector) at FINNAPP, and a Council Member of Deccan Education Society, actively contributing to education, innovation, and community development

Ms. Radhika Shinganapurkar, a Bachelor of Commerce degree with diplomas in Taxation Law and Acupressure Therapy. An entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in screen printing, she now explores ventures like handmade soaps and children's sweaters. As Joint Secretary of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, she contributes significantly to organizational management and community service.

Ms. Anjali Patil, a B.Sc. in Microbiology with a DMLT, is the Director at Softview Technologies Pvt. Ltd., overseeing HR and Accounts. With 13 years of experience, she excels in organizational and financial management. As Joint Secretary of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, she actively contributes to community development initiatives.

Mr. Sachin Nagpure, a Mechanical Engineer and Director of DRAN Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Pune, brings over 30 years of expertise in special-purpose machine manufacturing, design, and project management. A Trustee of Swanand Jankalyan Pratishthan, he is also an active member of Pune Management Association and Sinhagad Industrial Association, mentoring young entrepreneurs and fostering innovation.
