Project Details

The goal of the Kishor Darpan Project is to establish a supportive and empowering environment for adolescent girls aged 12-18, focusing on emotional and physical well-being, career guidance, and holistic development. The program aligns with the principles of NEP 2020 and aims to equip adolescent girls with the knowledge, skills, and values to navigate the challenges of adolescence and prepare for future opportunities. The project emphasizes building self-awareness, leadership skills, and a strong foundation for career planning, ensuring the upliftment and empowerment of girls in underserved communities

Objectives

Foster self-awareness and leadership qualities among adolescent girls.

Provide guidance and support for emotional and physical changes during adolescence.

Equip girls with the tools and resources for career planning and decision-making.

Enhance social-emotional learning and resilience.

Engage families and communities to create a supportive ecosystem for the girl's growth and development.

How it works ?

Target Group
The program serves adolescent girls aged 12 to 18 from Seva Vastis, guiding them through the challenges of adolescence and preparing them for their future
Sessions
Conducted every Saturday and Sunday for 1.5 to 2 hours
Emotional & Physical Well-being
Through discussions on emotional changes, body care, and personal hygiene, the girls learn to navigate the challenges of adolescence with confidence
Career Guidance
The project prepares girls for future career paths by introducing them to various career options and guiding them through self-discovery and decision-making processes
Special Sessions
The project covers topics such as menstrual hygiene, body changes, reproductive health systems, and leadership skills, ensuring the girls are well-informed and confident as they transition to adulthood
